5 Ways to Grow Your Audience Online (That You Haven’t Tried Yet!)…
1. Write a Guest Post for a Big Name Blog/Website
This is, hands down, my favorite way to grow your audience online. When I work with new female entrepreneurs, they all ask me the same question … but how will people FIND me online? And how do I grow my email list? And to that, I reply, “Write a guest post!”.
Here’s why guest features are so great … because even if you are brand new, you can leverage their BIG following to get eyeballs (readers … and potential future customers!) to see your stuff. When I first started out with my food blog, I was a nobody. But then, I had a recipe posted on MindBodyGreen, and suddenly my email list grew by 200 in less than 24 hours (HELLO potential future customers!).
That really opened my eyes to the power of guest posting … and the rest, as they say, is history.
2. Leave Meaningful Comments on a Big Name Blog/Website
Not quite ready to write a guest post for a big name blog? Instead, leave meaningful comments on existing posts. And NO, I don’t mean spamming the comments section (we’ve all seen the “my cousin made $900 in one day from her laptop” comments. Ew).
Instead, leave value-added, witty, smart comments. By doing so, you’re putting your face and your brand out there (nearly all online comments can link back to your blog or FB business page).
True story: I discovered the first business coach I ever hired from a comment on an article I was reading online … she left a comment, I was curious about her so I clicked to her website. Then, 6 weeks later, I was paying her $800/month for coaching.
3. Publish a Book on Amazon
This is easier than you think! Amazon makes it super simple for self-publishers to sell their books on the Amazon platform. I’ve sold two different cookbooks on Amazon and completed them all by myself (and I’m NOT super tech savvy!).
Here’s why I advocate for publishing a book on Amazon … because people use Amazon as a SEARCH ENGINE, searching for various things, just like Google. The benefit to Amazon is that your books can live on there forever (unlike social media, where only the most recent content shows at the top).
Publishing is a great way to build credibility while expanding your brand (and make money in the process!).
4. Host an Online Giveaway
Giveaways are so fun! And let’s be honest … everyone LOVES the chance to win free stuff.
Here’s my favorite way to host an online giveaway: to choose 3-5 products from Amazon, then when the winner is announced, order the products to be shipped directly to the winning individual. That way, you don’t have to worry about organizing/handling/shipping any merchandise. Easy peasy!
When you announce your giveaway, link up with a few other female entrepreneurs so that you can all leverage your audiences to work in conjunction with each other.
5. Host an Actionable Webinar
Webinars are not only a great opportunity to share your knowledge and paint yourself as the expert in your field, but they are a fantastic way to grow your email list.
People buy from people that they KNOW and TRUST, and webinars allow you build up the know and trust factor, simply by you sharing actionable, valuable content.
The more webinars you host … the more people that will attend each one. Word gets out fast! More attendees = bigger audience = bigger profits.
The key here is GROWTH!
You don’t have to do everything … but pick ONE thing that will help you build your brand.
Then, be intentional and implement!😘
