Hey … k, so fair warning … I’m typing this while on a train, so if any of my words end up looking like thisssss or thuswpbbis, you’ve been warned.😜 It can get a little bumpy.
Why am I on a train? I guess the better question is … why not?
When I was still at my 9-5, I remember days where I would just stare at my fuzzy dull gray cubicle walls and dream of being somewhere else.
I didn’t know where somewhere else was, but the day I stepped outside the big office building for the last time (with my oversized cardboard box of cubicle belongings), I made a personal promise to explore more.
Because what’s the point of having an online business if you can’t maximize your freedom?
So, earlier this week I made the random decision to head down to San Diego for a few days.
To make the spontaneous trip more enjoyable, I decided to travel by train instead of driving.
And so here I am … fresh hot coffee in hand, laptop placed on the fold-out tray table, and the Pacific Ocean passing alongside me.☀️ (Note to self: take more spontaneous train trips)
Yesterday, I had an eye-opening call with a new client.
She told me that she was burnt out. That she absolutely loathed her job.
I responded to her gripe with one word, “Perfect!”
That’s right … if you hate your job right now, you’re at the PERFECT place in your life to start and grow your #sidehustle.
1. You’ve Got a Fire Lit Under You
You want things to change so badly that you’ll do anything to provoke and create that change. Believe it or not … this is a beautiful place to be. Because if you liked your job (or even if you just felt okay about it), you would NOT have the drive you have right now.
EMBRACE the fire that is lit behind you. Leverage your dissatisfaction and channel it into your passions and into your calling.
2. You Have an Angel Investor
Let me tell you from experience … plunging full-time into entrepreneurship can be straight-up scary. That’s what’s so great about first starting your business as a #sidehustle … because you still have the consistency of a steady paycheck, you don’t have to put the full financial stress onto your biz.
I tell my side hustlin’ clients to look at their job as their “Angel Investor”, because you can leverage your salary to support and carry your business through its difficult early stages.
No matter what, remember … you are exactly where you’re supposed to be.💕
